TIME/IMAGE is delighted to announce its participation in the 25th Leeds International Film Festival.

At 8PM, Friday 11th November, in the Leeds Town Hall we will be screening, for the first time in over sixty years, five freshly digitised films from the British Council Archive Collection.

TIME/IMAGE is proud to this event free for all, but seating is limited, so please call 0113 224 3801 to book your tickets.

Films Showing:

Picture Paper (1946)
Erik Cripps - 19 minutes
Follows a cynical photo-magazine reporter as he pursues a story on town planning in Middlesbrough. Also features numerous genuine staff from the Picture Post, and discusses the responsibilities of the press.

Lincolnshire Poacher (1947)
The W.M. Larkins Studio - 3 minutes
Charming cartoons accompany the traditional English folksong ‘Lincolnshire Poacher’. Musical score by Hubert Clifford, sung by Dale Smith and a male voice quartet

Each For All (1943)
Montgomery Tully - 10 minutes
An introduction to the 1940s Trade Unions of Great Britain - how they work, and how they improve both the lives of the workers and the efficiency of various industries.

Widdicombe Fair (1947)
The W.M. Larkins Studio - 5 minutes
Charming cartoons accompany the traditional English folksong ‘Widdicombe Fair’. Musical score by Hubert Clifford, sung by Dale Smith and a male voice quartet

Steel (1945)
Ronald H. Riley - 35 minutes
A spectacular Technicolor study of the blast furnaces, forges, rolling mills, and machine shops of British steelworks, as well as the men who work them. Photography by Cyril Knowles and Jack Cardiff.
